Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the exciting work happening at LEAD. If you are an adult or teen we have many different kinds of volunteer opportunities available or things we need donated. If you are a low-income teen you can become a LEAD Teen.

LEAD's Volunteer Training:
Interested in working with the teens? Want to make a difference in a young person's life? Volunteer at LEAD - we have direct service opportunities in our weekly evening groups and in our Nuestro Lugar/Our Place Teen Center. Spanish speaking skills a plus!

Next training opportunities:

  1. Sat/Sun, April 14 and 15 from 10-4 p.m.
  2. Sat/Sun Aug 25/26 from 10-4 p.m.
    Cost of the training: $ 15 (to cover materials and snacks)

Training topics include:

  • Working with teens from an empowerment model
  • Working with diverse populations
  • Mandatory Reporting: What you need to know about working with teens
  • LEAD's 3 Commitments: What do they mean to follow them?
  • Peer Counseling techniques
  • Oppression Theory
  • The role of an ally
  • Working with teens who've experienced trauma
